About Kyle

Heartland Risk and Compliance, LLC was founded by Kyle Pickner, a financial services professional with more than 15 years of experience in banking, trust company operations, and regulatory compliance.

Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration – Finance from the University of South Dakota, laying the foundation for a career focused on integrity, risk management, and operational excellence within the financial industry.

Throughout his career, Kyle has held several executive and senior management roles, including Chief Trust Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Director of Trust Operations. He has also served on numerous boards, bringing a deep understanding of fiduciary responsibility, regulatory oversight, and corporate governance.

Kyle began his career in audit as Vice President of Administration for a self-directed IRA company, later advancing to Chief Compliance Officer. In 2022, he led the creation of the first Trust and Wealth Management Department for a South Dakota state-chartered bank as its Chief Trust Officer.

In 2023, Kyle joined a leading digital asset exchange as Public Trust Compliance Officer, where he managed global institutional onboarding and North American financial crime prevention initiatives.

Mr. Pickner currently supports various licensed trust companies and money transmitter licensees in  Compliance and Administrative roles where he continues to advance innovative compliance solutions and operational risk frameworks.
